Viewing the statistical breakdown of Bernie Goldbach’s flickr page
I see that the most popular images are Sam the Ugliest Dog,Tampon Chandelier,
Hurricane Katrina and Twitter Background .accounting for nearly a quarter of all viewings.
When it comes to images in a popularity contest I’m afraid that Sam is relegated to second
place by the Rock of Cashel while Katrina remains in third place.
Sam has garnered the most comments followed by Mad Max the Ultimate Coal Miner
with The Rock and the Tampons hot on his heels in third and fourth place.
Over two days Flickr has referred 11 – 17% of viewers,search engines 35 – 36%,
other sites 3 – 4 % and unknown scources 49 – 41%. Of the search engines Google images
accounts for the most referrals by far with 29 and 28%.
Keywords bringing the most visits would include “dog warts” for Sam
Ryanair’s website would be one of the places I can be most frequently found.
A son in Scotland,a sister in Spain,a love of cities and itchy feet should explain
this. Any backroom boy in Google disecting my visits to this site would have
learned a lot if his analytical tools allowed him to single me out.
Firstly I exit via the Shannon page without having bought a flight as Ton
O’Reilly in his chagrin has withdrawn my three favourites as destinations
serviced from Shannon some times when following a link in a special offer email
I bounce out straight away when I see that Shannon has none of the offers.
Secondly as I now have to fly from Dublin and departure times usually do not
slot in with public transport from the west of Ireland I have to flip backwards
and forwards to find the right time/date.
So I spend more time on the site and my path through the site is far more
convoluted and that is before making the decision to purchase.
Of course the boffin will have gleaned that I am a frequent flyer but less so now
that Shannon is no longer an option as a departure point.
I find all of this social media stuff slightly confusing.
Why do I feel a wee bit creepy after joining Facebook?
Having been required to sign up for reasons other than my own I now find myself making “friendship” requests to total strangers. Albeit strangers I have had an email correspondence with. The world is not a place where there are no strangers “just friends one has not met yet”. Bollocks
